The drivers face their 4th and 5th OWI offenses
FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WBAY) – Two drivers with a history of drunk-driving were arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol 30 minutes apart. The drivers face their 4th and 5th drunk driving offenses.
The State Patrol says it received a call about a car traveling at low speed and couldn’t stay in its lane just after 5:30 Sunday night. A trooper found the car parked and the driver slumped over the wheel.
The 38-year-old man from Maribel was arrested after a field sobriety test for operating under the influence 5th offense and operating while revoked. He also had an arrest warrant.
An Appleton man could face his 4th OWI charge.
The State Patrol says a trooper pulled over his SUV for speeding on Interstate 41 south of Scheuring Rd. in De Pere just before 6 p.m.
The trooper noticed the driver showed signs of impairment. The 33-year-old driver refused a field sobriety test and was taken into custody.
The State Patrol is still investigating the arrests, waiting for results of blood tests.
