The operation was part of an ongoing holiday crackdown targeting alcohol and drug impaired driving.
A total of six people accused of driving while intoxicated were arrested at sobriety checkpoints Wednesday in Patchogue and Hampton Bays.
Authorities say officers were conducting a sobriety checkpoint operation at Waverly Plaza between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. in Patchogue.
The operation was part of an ongoing holiday crackdown targeting alcohol and drug impaired driving. Over 350 cars went through the checkpoint during that time period.
The suspects included Jessica Vanegas, of Bay Shore, Kasian Kader Masthan, of Deer Park, and Jeffrey Sanchez Alvarenga, of Brentwood.
Three other people were also arrested at another sobriety checkpoint in Hampton Bays. Police say they encountered over 1,000 cars at that location.
