Six people were injured in a horrid wrong-way crash on the Hutchinson River Parkway in Westchester early Monday — with the driver of the car in the wrong lane left fighting for his life, according to cops.
Photos from the crash on the parkway’s northbound lanes in Rye Brook just after midnight show the cars badly mangled, with one ripped apart.
The driver of the wrong-way vehicle sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Westchester Medical Center, according to police.
The five occupants of the other car were also taken to the Westchester Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The vehicles were towed around 6:30 a.m., and northbound lanes of the parkway were closed, redirecting traffic onto Lincoln Avenue, according to cops.
All six northbound lanes on the Hutchinson River Parkway have since reopened, Westchester News 12 reported.
The circumstances around the collision are still under investigation by the Westchester County Police Department Accident Investigation Team and detectives from the General Investigations Unit.
