Authorities say Wilmer Escobar was driving drunk when he struck two unoccupied cars parked near Prospect Avenue and Brooklyn Avenue.
He fled the scene on foot and was soon caught by officers near his home on Catherine Street.
Police say he also injured one of the officers while resisting arrest.
The charges against Escobar include assault, resisting arrest, DWI and two counts of leaving the scene of an auto accident.
A Nassau County judge set the defendant’s bail at $5,000 cash.
He is due back in court on Dec. 17.
