NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — New Haven police say they’ve arrested a woman accused of using Instagram to organize multiple street takeovers throughout the state.
On Tuesday, officers arrested Kimberly Hueffman of Milford after determining she owned and controlled an Instagram account they found was repeatedly announcing street takeovers, including ones in New Haven.
She was charged with inciting a riot.
The 47-year-old allegedly used the account “Finnalwarrning” to facilitate the takeovers.
Police said these takeovers have caused major disruptions, blocked public roadways and created dangerous situations for residents, pedestrians, and those involved.
“Street takeovers are illegal and unsafe for participants, the public and responding officers,” New Haven Police Chief Karl Jacobson said in a statement.
“We are not going to tolerate this behavior. We will continue to aggressively disrupt them as they are happening by using stop sticks to deflate tires of vehicles, arrest participants and spectators. Even if you think you got away, we will make arrests by warrant for anyone we can identify,” he continued.
