MONTVILLE, Conn. (WTNH) — A 19-year-old woman was arrested on Tuesday in Montville for driving under the influence of marijuana with alcohol in her car, according to state police.
Police preformed a traffic stop on a Honda Accord driving on I-395 after the car passed their cruiser on the right. Upon contacting the driver, the trooper said that they could detect a strong odor of marijuana coming from within the vehicle, as well as a cloud of smoke coming out the window while it was rolled down.
The driver, identified as Emily Campos-Sanchez, 19, of Norwich, failed a field sobriety test and admitted to consuming marijuana prior to driving. After searching the vehicle, police discovered marijuana and alcohol. She also did not have a valid license to operate a car.
She was charged with DUI, passing on the right, operating without a license, possession of marijuana by a minor and possession of alcohol by a minor. She was released on a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 11.
