ROCKY HILL, Conn. (WTNH) — State police say a Meriden man was arrested Sunday after allegedly driving over 100 mph on Interstate 91 in Rocky Hill on Sunday.
Around 12:23 p.m. Sunday, state police said a trooper was on patrol in the area of Exit 24 when they noticed a blue BMW 330I speeding “much faster than the flow of traffic.”
The trooper confirmed its speed was 115 mph, state police said.
The driver failed to stop for the trooper’s emergency lights and sirens, and state police said they terminated their pursuit due to the hazard to public safety.
However the driver was later located at the registered owner’s address.
Shoaib Noori, 22, was charged with disobeying the signal of an officer, failure to maintain lane, reckless driving, passing on the right, interfering with an officer, and first-degree reckless endangerment.
Noori was released on a $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear at New Britain Superior Court on March 20.
