A heartstopping video shows a West Virginia girl narrowly defying death when a reckless driver barrels past her stopped school bus and misses her by mere inches.
The girl had just stepped off the bus on her way home from school in Kanawha County on March 14, when a beat-up Lincoln sedan approached from behind and blasted past the vehicle’s extended stop sign, according to cops and the footage.
She is seen in the footage walking across the front of the bus when she briefly looks down at her phone — just as the car rockets up the road toward her.
At the last moment the car swerves onto the road’s shoulder, and the girl looks up from her phone and has to skid to a stop on her toes as the car whips by, the footage shows.
Local police quickly circulated the clip of the shocking incident asking the public for help identifying the driver.
