Duo arrested for street racing in Fort Myers, reached speeds over 100 mph

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two people accused of street racing and reaching speeds upward of 100 mph.

Deputies arrested Jean Michael Lopez, 31, and Jazmyn Eve Boldt, 23, on Thursday after observing the duo traveling at a high rate of speed on Alico Road, past Ben Hill Griffin Parkway in Fort Myers.

According to the sheriff’s office, the deputy on patrol made a traffic stop on the two vehicles after noticing that both people were lined up against one another, accelerating past 100 mph.

The deputy estimated the two cars reaching that top speed, noting that they reached similar speeds to perform the traffic stop.

Lopez and Boldt were eventually pulled over near Airport Haul in Fort Myers.

Both people were then arrested and charged with street racing.

Lopez and Boldt have since bonded out of jail.
