St. Lucie County Judge Lauren Sweet ruled on Saturday that Harjinder Singh poses a substantial flight risk, FOX News reported.

The media outlet said Sweet found probable cause for six charges against Singh, classifying them as forcible felonies under state law.

There are no conditions of release that will ensure your appearance at trial,” Sweet told Singh, per FOX News. “Therefore, sir, I’m setting your bond on each charge at no bond.”

Singh, 28, is in the custody of the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office after he was extradited from California on Thursday.

Singh faces three counts of vehicular homicide related to the deadly crash on Florida’s Turnpike, which claimed the lives of three South Florida residents on August 12.

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles said Singh attempted to make an illegal U-turn through an “Official Use Only” access point. The agency said he blocked all lanes of the highway with his truck, causing the crash.

“The actions taken by the Defendant while operating a commercial tractor-trailer are both shocking and criminal,” Dave Kerner, who is the agency’s executive director, said. “Three people lost their lives as a result of his recklessness, and countless friends and family members will experience the pain of their loss forever. Harjinder Singh is in custody on state vehicular homicide charges and immigration violations. He will no longer be able to damage and destroy the lives of Floridians and visitors. At the conclusion of his state charges, he will be deported. The Florida Highway Patrol remains committed to enforcing both state and federal law to ensure that people that are a danger to others face justice behind bars.”

DHS said Singh obtained a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in California “despite having no legal right” to be in the U.S., adding that California Gov. Gavin Newsom “put Americans’ lives directly at risk” by allowing an illegal immigrant to drive.

This state of governance is asinine,” DHA Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement. “How many more innocent people must die before Gavin Newsom stops playing games with the safety of the American public? We pray for the victims and their families. Secretary Noem and DHS are working around the clock to protect the public and get these criminal illegal aliens out of America.”
