New York State Police say it was a part of Operation Hard Hat, a multi-department initiative aiming to crack down on reckless driving in highway work zones.
Troop L participated in the operation on Monday, issuing 68 total tickets over the course of a few hours.
Thirty-three of those tickets were for speeding, according to Troop L.
“Those numbers are not just statistics, they represent drivers who put highway workers, emergency responders, and fellow motorists at risk,” said state police in a post on Facebook.
